Inspiration (or why I haven't made a new Podcast Episode in some time)

Why?
Because it stopped being fun. I'm back at work and that's taking up a lot of my time, I thought the first hiatus at the end of October would be the break I needed but it turns out it wasn't. I had gotten settled in, however going from no job, to two part time jobs, back to my original schedule took its toll on my productivity. Plus as fun as the recent episodes have been, I haven't put much effort into them. But taking a few weeks off has got me thinking about what I want to do with "The Tim Gavin Show".
A) Tightening up the run time
The episode lengths are all over the place, which I think throws off your expectations on each episode and how much time you'll have to put into listening. I want to make the run time of each episode as consistent as I can, and I want to make the episodes a reasonable length. I want to give you something to binge OR something to just take up a small part of your week. So my goal is to make episodes Half an hour long.
B) Changing how I approach this podcast.
I still like talking about Music and Pop Culture. But the more I dive into this stuff, the more I realize just how little I know, and how disorganized my thoughts are when it comes to putting these episodes together. It makes me want to go beyond what this show started out as. Plus if I'm honest, this podcast started out basically as a coping mechanism for being unemployed, and now that I have returned to work doing this podcast has just felt like a chore, and I want it to be fun for me.
C) Work/Life/Podcast Balance
A work life balance is really hard to come by, and when I'm not working I do want to live my life. Go outside, spend time with people (when the pandemic is over), etc. My previous experiment with doing a podcast in a day resulted in my shortest episode to date so I gotta pump those numbers up. But I think maybe putting in an hour or two a day during the week could be the ticket to that balance.
D) Fix Technical Issues
Not with the audio, with publishing. Spotify hasn't published my episodes since the New Wave Trilogy, and Google doesn't even have the show listed (at least since the first couple episodes) so I might even have to take down and re-publish every episode on a new publisher.
The Tim Gavin Show will return...eventually.
